Remote Client Services

The Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted the daily lives of all Californians. The latest direction from the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) allows for the provision of temporary Remote Client Services also known as Telehealth. To avoid a delay in completing your DUI Program, Alert Driving, Inc. will be offering Remote Client Services. Remote Client Services will enable you to continue your DUI classes with a certified counselor via a virtual meeting platform (Zoom) temporarily during the COVID-19 crisis. ADI will be using the HIPAA approved version of Zoom and all sessions will meet HIPAA standards.

The classes will mirror the structure of the in-person sessions. You will be required to attend 2 hour education classes, 2 hour groups, and 15 minute one-on-one counseling sessions just like you had been in person. If you do not wish to participate in remote client services you will remain on the no charge leave of absence until we are able to resume in-person sessions.

To participate in Remote Client Services, you must:

  • Be current with your monthly payments and continue to pay using the online payment platform per the regulations outlined on your Fee Agreement.

  • Sign a Telehealth participation agreement via Docusign.

  • Have access to required technology.

  • Let us know you would like to participate by filling out the survey linked at the bottom of this page. 

 To receive credit for the session, you must:

  • Attend the session in a private room, free of distractions.

  • Be on time and stay for the entire session.

  • Not be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs during the session.

 

Other important information:

  • You will be given a new schedule upon signing and returning your participation agreement. You must adhere to this schedule in the same manner you would in person sessions.

  • All program components and requirements are still the same per your signed contract:

    • Wet Reckless clients will still be required to complete 6 weeks of 2 hour education classes and 1 face-to-face counseling session

    • 3 Month clients will still be required to complete 6 weeks of 2 hour education classes, 9 weeks of 2 hour group sessions, and 3 face-to-face counseling sessions

    • 9 and 18 month clients must still complete 6 weeks of 2 hour education classes, bi-weekly 2 hour group sessions, and bi-weekly 15 minute counseling sessions.

  • You will be charged a $25 missed activity or reschedule fee for missed sessions.

  • Absences will be counted against you the same way in person absences would per your signed contract. If you wish to let us know ahead of time that you won’t be attending your scheduled session you must do so by email to our reschedule email.

  • No make up sessions will be scheduled via Telehealth at this time unless you wish to extend your regular weekly sessions to accommodate make ups needed.

 

Certain technology is required to participate in this program. You must have either a computer, tablet, or phone with a working microphone, speakers, and a camera. You must also be able to download the free Zoom software onto a computer or download the Zoom app on a tablet or phone.

If you do not have the technology to participate or are unable to participate due to financial reasons then you may continue to take advantage of the no charge leave of absence. If you choose to remain on the leave of absence you will not be required to pay monthly payments and you will not be charged for any missed sessions.
